Vegetable garden with wildlife pond: Stirling

This garden incorporates everything Bracken Lane is about. Measuring only 10m x 10m the garden is packed full of wildlife freindly features and is also an incredibly productive one. You will notice the three FSC( Forest steward council) superior rasised beds with capping. These are at three different heights  for a modern twist. The pond is planted with various native species while the back border incorporates a mixture of natives and non natives to make up a woodland edge planting scheme. In a few years this will knit together to form a dense leafy layer with all year interest in terms of flowers and foliage. The garden also contains a hedge which incorporates five different fruit bushes, both birds and people alike will enjoy. Only after two weeks blackbirds and other birds are regularly visiting the pond to preen and the ponds first damselfly has also made an appearance.

Update: Hedgehog now nesting beneath the Decking!
